Ensure that identification tags and cable markers are legible, marked with a permanent ink and suitable for the environment where the panel is to be used. They should also correspond with those shown in the machine drawings and instruction or service documentation.

The terminations of shielded or screened conductors should be terminated so that the screen cannot fray. If the screen is to be connected then make it off in the same way as for coaxial cable with a soldered pigtail and a sleeve.

Power then runs from the “A” or accessory terminal to a STSP (Single Throw Single Position) switch. This switch is wired in-series and is a way to connect and disconnect power to your accessory such as your headlights. Your headlights are then wired to the STSP light switch and are wired in parallel to each other. This means two wires will come from your light switch and connect to each headlight individually. Two ground wires will also come off each headlight individually and connect to the common ground. If you were to wire your headlights in series each headlight will only use 6 volts rather than 12 and the brightness will be diminished.

You're permitted to use wiring channels if they're made of a flame-retardant insulating material. If you're working with back-connected control panels, you must provide access doors or swing out panels that swing about a vertical axis. Multiple-device control panels must have terminal blocks or attachment plugs and receptacles to terminate and connect all outgoing control conductors.

One bite at a time.” If your engine is running poorly it could be caused by several problems. It’s best to break your problem down into separate systems and work through each system individually.

Line diagrams, also called “schematic” or “elementary” diagrams, show the circuits which form the basic operation of the controller. They do not indicate the physical relationships of the various components in the controller. They are an ideal means for troubleshooting a circuit.

As the piston in your engine moves downward it creates a vacuum which draws in air through the intake end of the carburetor. As the air travels through the venturi, the air’s pressure drops, and fuel is drawn down from the fuel bowl, and then back up through the main jet and emulsion tube. The low pressure air mixes with and atomizes the fuel. This air/fuel mixture continues through the intake valve and into your combustion chamber.

The continuity function measures resistance, and if there is a complete connection the meter will give an audible beep. If there is no continuity your DMM will show “OL” on the display meaning there is an open line. You can use this to test for electrical shorts in wiring or components. I commonly use this function to quickly test for shorted ignition switches and ignition coils.
