You are required to run conductors and cables from terminal to terminal without splices. However, an exception allows you to install a splice in leads attached to electrical equipment, such as motors and solenoids.
Where the circuits work at different voltages, the conductors must be separated by suitable barriers or all the wires insulated for the highest voltage to which any conductor may be subjected.
